For the first time since the 2014-2015 season, the Phoenix girls' basketball team has a pair of Skyline Conference wins to its credit.
The Pirates evened their conference mark at 2-2 on Tuesday night, downing Klamath Union 64-48 in the process. A 23-point second quarter helped PHS opened a halftime lead before Phoenix put the game away with a 20-point surge in the final quarter.
Cristal Tellez had her best game of the season. The senior scored a team-high 17 points and came up with five big steals. Josie Bolstad added 17 points nad 12 rebounds while Delani Parent went for 15 points and 12 boards in the win. Kassandra Skaff finsihed with 12 points in the game.
Phoenix is 9-7 overall heading to Skyline leader Hidden Valley on Friday night.
