After a rough start to the season, the Phoenix football team has been competing over the final month of the spring campaign.

The Pirates (0-5) will close their season on Friday when they host Douglas on Senior NIght. Kickoff is set for 7 pm at Phoenix-Talent Rising Field at Jack Woodward Stadium.

Phoenix fell at North Valley 21-7 on April 2. The Pirates' touchdown came on a pass from Ryan Watts to Marcelo Valadez. Kyle Braun added the extra point.

PHS fell at North Eugene 40-0 during spring break. Eric Peltier and  Trevor Sharrar both came up with turnovers in the game but Phoenix was unable to muster much offense. A week earlier the Pirates played their best overall game of the season in a 20-9 loss at Klamath Union. Watts and Valdadez again connected on a scoring pass while Braun made good on a 32-yard field goal to account for the Pirate scoring.
