The first showdown of the season for the powers of the Skyline Conference went to Henley on Wednesday night.
The host Hornets rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to down visiting Phoenix 6-2 in Klamath Falls.
Jenner Seldon scored the game's opening goal late in the first half. After that, Henley ran off six straight goals before Caden Gallegos found the net late in the second half.
Phoenix dropped to 3-2 in the conference and 7-2 overall halfway through the Skyline season. The Pirates are ranked fourth in the state. Meanwhile, Henley improved to 4-0 in the conference and is ranked third at the 4A level in Oregon.
The teams play again on October 25 at Phoenix.
The Pirates return to action Monday when they visit Mazama.
