The Phoenix volleyball shares the Skyline Conference lead after opening the agenda with a convincing win over North Valley.

The Pirates swept the visiting Knights 25-21, 25-16 and 25-14 last Thursday night. 

Senior Raelyssa Goff finished with 21 digs, three aces and three kills, while fellow senior Allyson Ellis had four aces, three digs and 12 assists. Senior Veronica Ascencion added two aces and 10 assists.

Junior Ami Safady had eight kills, four aces and three blocks for Phoenix, which improved to 3-5 on the season. Makynna Nolan added three kills and two blocks.

Phoenix was also in action on Saturday, taking part in the Rogue Valley Classic at North Medford High School. The Pirates earned their way to the semifinals of the Silver Bracket by downing Cascade Christian in the opening round of bracket play before falling to Mazama. 

PHS returns to Skyline play on Tuesday when it will host Henley.
