Santana sets pace for PHS wrestlers

Elijah Santana was on a roll Saturday.
The Phoenix junior scored a major decision and four pins to win the 152-pound weight class at the Eagle Point Invitational. As a team, the Pirates totaled 194.5 points, good for fourth place on the day.
Other top efforts for Phoenix included Yovanni Chavez second at 120, Dalton Samis second at 145, Zach Trenbeath second at 160 and Ishmael DeLaTorre second at 285.
The Pirates return to action this weekend at the Cottage Grove Invitational.
