Small in numbers. Mighty in results. That’s the Phoenix High School equestrian team!

The Pirate duo of Ashlee Day and Riley Hayes combined to win the high points honor for the 2018 regular season, which culminated last weekend with a three-day event at the Jackson County Expo.

Hayes finished first in jumping and dressage while she was third in saddleseat and fifth in hunt seat. Meanwhile, Day was fifth in Canadian flags and 10^th in barrels.  As a team, they were fourth in working pairs and third in drill.

Hayes and Day will advance to the State Equestrian Meet in Redmond May 10-13.
