The Phoenix Pirates are heading to the State Speech and Debate Tournament in April.

A long list of PHS students earned their spot in the event through qualifying at South Medford over the weekend.

Neeyom Inthavong & Liz Griggs qualified in Lincoln Douglas debate

Brandon Morrison & Emily Weaver are the district champs in Parliamentary Debate

Karli Farrimond & Kaden Caywood qualified through proven excellence in Parliamentary Debate (they broke to finals at tournaments with 25+ teams and 11+ schools twice this year)

Brandon Morrison placed 2nd and qualified in Impromptu Speaking and is the district champ in Original Oratory

Emily Weaver is the district champ in Poetry Reading

Adriel Gamez and Justin Davis qualified in Congressional Debate.
