Tim Bright
A 1978 graduate of Phoenix High School, Tim finished second at state in the pole vault in 1978 before going on to a distinguished collegiate and international career in the pole vault and decathlon. He starred at Abilene Christian University, winning the NCAA Division II decathlon in 1983 and becoming one of the school's most decorated track and field athletes. He was inducted into the ACU Hall of Fame in 1999. Tim went on to set a world record in the pole vault in the 1988 Olympics and won American National Championships in the pole vault in 1991 and 1992 and the decathlon in 1987. He was ranked in the top 10 nationally for 10 years and was a four-time world championship team member. He went on to work as an assistant track and field coach at Concordia University.
