Jim McAbee

A 1955 alumni of Talent High School, Jim was accomplished as both an athlete and coach at various levels. At THS he was a four-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball and was named the top senior in all three sports. He played in the East-West Shrine Game and was an all-state basketball player for two seasons. He was the catcher on the 1954 co-state championship baseball team. He went on to Southern Oregon University and was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999. He was SOU's first three-sport all-conference athlete. He coached baseball for 34 seasons at North Medford, winning a state title in 1984. He is a member of the Medford Sports Hall of Fame and the Oregon High School Coaches Hall of Fame.
