Pirates close golf season at district event

The Phoenix girls' golf team saw its season come to an end at the Special District 3 tournament in Bandon on May 9-10.
A 12th-place finish by Ruby Rector led the Pirates during the two-day event. The junior shot 99 and 102 to pace Phoenix. Also for Phoenix, Ava Robinson posted scores of 122 and 128, Ami Saffady 115 and 144 and Lily Bulux 130 and 154.
