The offensive onslaught to start the season continued for the Phoenix baseball team on Friday afternoon.
The Pirates hammered out 13 hits on the way to a 10-4 win over Cascade Christian at US Cellular Fields. PHS improved to 7-3 with the victory as it prepares to open Skyline Conference play at North Valley on Wednesday afternoon.
Phoenix broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the fourth and four in the fifth inning. Dylan Knudson totalled three hits and drove in three runs. Knudson, Chase Courtney and Liam Serean strung together consecutive hits in the fifth-inning surge.
Knudson started and worked into the third inning. Freedom Martinez took the mound in relief, working through the sixth inning, allowing just one hit. Serean pitched the seventh.
