The Phoenix baseball team finished the week strong to prime for another big week of Skyline Conference play.
The Pirates (who open a three-game series with Mazama at Colver Field on Wednesday) rolled past host North Valley 7-2 and 14-0 on Saturday in Merllin. The Pirates are 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the Skyline.
Freedom Martinez struck out 11 and allowed just two hits in the opener before Liam Serean threw no-hitter in the second contest.
Offensively, PHS took control early in both games, scoring five runs in the first inning of the opener and 14 over the first two of the nightcap. Braeden Watts had two hits in the first game while Nik Goff and Mason Stella had two in the second. Eli Page collected a pair of hits on the day in his varsity debut.
