An opportunity to bring home a Skyline Conference win from Klamath Falls on Wednesday wasn’t quite in the cards for the Phoenix softball team.
The Pirates dropped a 5-3 decision at Mazama. Phoenix totaled seven hits in the contest, including two by Halie Bowman. Claire Mathewson and Emma Truex pitched for Phoenix, which is 5-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The teams play again on Saturday when the Pirates host a doubleheader beginning at noon at Colver Field in Talent.
