The team on track to win the Skyline Conference championship was too much for the Phoenix Pirates.
Visiting Mazama used a big third quarter to break open a close game on the way to a 69-41 win over the Pirates on Tuesday night. Mazama led 31-25 at intermission before its big third quarter and went on to outscore Phoenix 38-16 over the final two quarters.
Brennan Watts was the only Pirate player to reach double figures, finishing with 11 points. The Pirates (5-17 overall, 2-7 in the conference) close the season on Friday when they host Klamath Union.
