Boys slow down after fast start

The Phoenix boys' basketball team was quick out of the blocks on Tuesday night.

The Pirates led early and often against visiting Henley in a Skyline Conference game at PHS. Phoenix held a 17-14 advantage after a quarter and was with the Hornets through the majority of the second quarter before the visitors used a spurt before halftime to take a 26-20 lead at the intermission and never looked back on the way to a 56-39 win.

PHS dropped to 0-2 in conference play and 9-7 overall. The Pirates return to action Friday, visiting Mazama.
