After three quarters of a close game, Phoenix wasn't able to stay with defending Skyline Conference champion Mazama in the final quarter of a 64-51 loss on Tuesday night.
The Pirates trailed 43-39 after three quarter before the visiting Vikings outscored them 21-12 over the final eight minutes to close the game.
Phoenix (11-11 overall and 2-6 in the conference) got 12 points from Neco Ortega and Braeden Watts and 10 from AJ Stanfield. The Pirates are back home Friday, hosting Klamath Union.
