For the second time this season, the Klamath Union boys' basketball team handed Phoenix a loss, downing the host Pirates 62-47 in Skyline Conference play on Tuesday night.
After toppling Phoenix in the finals of the Pirate Shootout in December, KU earned a share of the Skyline lead with Tuesday's convincing win as Phoenix fell for the first time in conference play this season. Both teams are 3-1 in the Skyline. Phoenix is 10-7 overall.
KU led throughout the night as Phoenix struggled to put points on the board.
Ethan Hutsell's 15 points led Phoenix, which travels to Hidden Valley on Friday night to close the first half of conference play.
