It was another tie against another state-caliber team for the Phoenix boys' soccer team on Tuesday.
The Pirates recorded a 1-1 draw in a non-conference game against visiting Brookings at Colver Field. Byrson Flenner logged the goal for PHS, connecting late in the first half on an assist from Randy Rodriguez.
Giovanni Cook recorded four saves in goal. Brookings managed its lone goal in the 58th minute.
The Pirates (0-0-2) return to action Tuesday, opening Skyline Conference play at Hidden Valley.
