Everything fell into place for the Phoenix boys' soccer team on Thursday.

After the Pirates enjoyed Senior Day with a stellar 8-0 win over Klamath Union, they received the news that Hidden Valley had dropped a 4-1 decision to North Valley. That loss, combined with the PHS win, gave the Pirates the outright league title as well as a home game when the state playoffs open on November 1.

Phoenix finished with a 7-3 mark in conference play while Hidden Valley and North Valley both posted marks of 6-3-1.

Ranked ninth in the state, the Pirates got two goals from both Gio Cook and Bryson Flenner while Randy Rodriguez, Gustavo Pinon, Ramon Rivera and Kassem Akil all scored once each. Rodriguez tallied three assists, Jacob Gee two, Akil and Alex Salcido one each.

The championship is the third Skyline title in the past five seasons for Phoenix.
