After winning a pair of games a week earlier, the Phoenix girls’ basketball team gave away its opportunity to win another on Thursday night.
The Pirates committed 32 turnovers in a 55-42 loss to visiting North Valley in the Skyline Conference opener for both teams at PHS.
Phoenix (6-9 overall) kept the game close throughout but wasn’t able to overcome the giveaways. Josie Bolstad (14 points and 11 rebounds) and Delani Parent (12 points and 14 rebounds) had strong games around the basket for the Pirates, who host Henley on Tuesday night.
