Finding the basket continued to be an issue for the Phoenix girls basketball team on Tuesday night.
The Pirates struggled offensively in a 31-25 loss at Mazama. PHS scored just 12 first-half points before rallying in the third quarter and cut the lead to four. The host Vikings kept the visitors from getting any closer in the Skyline Conference contest.
Twenty-six turnovers also led to issues for the Pirates in a game postponed last Friday due to poor road conditions.
Delani Parent led Phoenix with eight points and nine rebounds.
The Pirates (6-11 overall and 0-3 in conference play) return to action Friday when they visit Klamath Union.
