Josie Bolstad picked the perfect time to have the best game of her basketball career.
The junior posted scored 34 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in leading Phoenix past Molalla 60-48 in a 4A play-in game at Molalla on Saturday afternoon.
Bolstad scored 22 of her points in the first two quarters as Phoenix opened a 33-21 lead. The Pirates kept their margin throughout the final two quarters to advance to the Round of 16 OSAA State Playoffs where they will meet Philomath on Saturday afternoon.
Phoenix improved to 12-11 on the season. Cristal Tellez added 10 points and five rebounds, Delani Parent nine points and five rebounds and Lola Lumbreas six points, eight rebounds and nine assists. PHS is back in the state playoffs for the first time since 2014.
