The Phoenix girls' basketball game played one of its most complete games of the season on Feb. 11 and still came up a couple points short!
The Pirates fought back throughout the night and led late in a Skyline Conference contest against Klamath Union before the Pelicans' Emma Langley hit a three-point with three seconds to play in a 41-39 final at PHS.
Phoenix rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to take the lead after three quarters. The contest remained close throughout the final quarter as the Pirates took a 39-38 lead on a pair of free throws by Morgan James with 16 seconds to play. Annabell Delgado led Phoenix in scoring with 14 points while James and Kynna Nolan both had 11.
The Pirates are 1-6 in the Skyline and 7-13 overall heading into a pivotal game at North Valley on Tuesday night.
