Another night on the rollercoaster produced another win for the surging Phoenix boys' basketball team.
The Pirates improved to 4-4 in the Skyline Conference and remained in the hunt for the post-season with a 53-46 win at North Valley on Tuesday night.
Phoenix raced out to a 23-9 lead after one quarter before holding off the pesky Knights throughout the rest of the night. Miguel Valadez scored 17 points while Robin Trenbeath added 12 and Jack Monroe nine.
PHS is 9-12 overall heading into another big game on Friday when it visits Hidden Valley.
