A team short on numbers put up some big numbers on Tuesday night.
After losing two straight games, the Phoenix girls' basketball team bounced back with a 62-24 non-conference win at South Umpqua.
All five starters scored at least five points in the win as the Pirates improved to 9-6 on the season. Anabell Delgado led the way with 21, Alissa Alverez added 16 and Lillianna Quintero chipped in a career-high 12. Mae Woodward finished with eight points and Mira Jacobs-Grigsby five as Phoenix scored 35 first-half points and hit 18 of 26 free throws in the game.
The Pirates return to action Friday when they open Skyline Conference play at Mazama.
