Pirates battle in Senior Day loss to Henley

Four seniors on the field and two who are injured made certain the Phoenix girls' soccer team left no doubt about its effort in the final home game for the group at Colver Fields on Thursday afternoon.
The Pirates dropped a 2-0 Skyline Conference match to visiting Henley. The PHS defense turned back Hornet threats throughout the match while the offense managed multiple shots on goal but wasn't able to convert. The senior group included Maegan Farley, Lili Mejia, Grace LaNier and Carina Rodriguez on the field as well as Emonie Snowton and Dani Escobedo, who are both injured.
PHS is 3-8 overall and 1-7 in Skyline play. The Pirates return to action Monday, visiting Mazama.
