After scoring first, the Phoenix girls' soccer team was unable to find the goal again in a 3-1 Skyline Conference loss at North Valley on Thursday afternoon.
The Pirates drew first blood when Makenzie Christenson headed home a corner kick by Alex Hernandez in the 10th minute of the match. North Valley countered with a goal 10 minutes later before scoring twice in the second half. PHS finished with seven shots on goal.
Phoenix (0-3 in the conference and 2-3-1 overall) returns to action Monday at Henley.
