The Phoenix girls' soccer team sent a message on Monday!
After a winless run through the first half of Skyline Conference play, the Pirates opened the second go-round with a solid 2-0 win over visiting Klamath Union at Colver Field.
Sandra Villa scored 12 minutes into the match while Sofie Rodriguez converted an Alondra Ruvalcaba pass into a goal in the 57th minute. Emma Truex had seven saves to pace a strong defensive effort by Phoenix, which improved to 1-4-1 in the conference.
The Pirates return to action Thursday, visiting Hidden Valley.
