The Phoenix volleyball team came out swinging on Tuesday night.
Spurred on by a raucous student section, the Pirates swept past visiting 25-20, 25-7, 25-15 in a Skyline Conference match. The win evened Phoenix's record at 1-1 in conference play.
Setters Sophia Tringolo and Anna Ellis set the pace for PHS. Tringolo totalled 15 assists and five aces while Ellis passed out 10 assists and six aces. Celeste McKinnon finished with six kills while Abi George and Josie Bolstad added four each.
Phoenix returns to action Thursday, hosting Klamath Union.
