For the first time this season, the Phoenix volleyball team played a single match in a night.
After opening with three nights of round-robin play, the Pirates made the trip to South Umpqua where they fell in three sets to the host Lancers 25-14, 25-18 and 25-18.
Delani Parent finished with a team-high seven kills and four blocks. Ally Ellis handed out 12 assists in her starting varsity debut while Jourden Devey chipped in four kills.
Phoenix (1-6 on the season) returns to action Monday in a three-team event at Eagle Point.
