The Phoenix cross country teams keep tackling big meets to get prepared for bigger meets.
The Pirates took part in Saturday’s Harrier Classic at Bryant Park in Albany, an event which drew some of the top big schools in the state.
Robby Vos paced the Pirate boys, finishing ninth overall in 16:08. Other top finishes for the PHS boys included Noah Marshall 51st in 17:26 and Justin Vermillion 194th in 19:45.
Lupita Alegria was 92nd in the girls’ race, posting a time of 22:00. Jasper Cortell was 97th in 22:06 and Shelby Platt 128th in 23:16.
The Pirates return to action Wednesday at the Max King Invite at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Medford as they continue preparations for the Skyline District meet on October 25.
