The Phoenix cross country teams turned in another solid performance at another mostly big-school meet on Wednesday.
The Pirate girls placed eighth while the boys were 10th in the 4th Annual Max King Invite at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Central Point.
Lupita Alegria led the PHS girls, finishing 29th in 21:20. Jasper Cortell (42nd in 22:01), Shelby Platt (65th in 23:18), Jasmin Christian (74th in 24:05) and Vivian Tauer (88th in 25:24) rounded out the team scoring.
Robby Vos toured the 5K course in 16;04 to finish 6th. Noah Marshall (41st in 17:45), Dilan Mathieu (96th in 19:16), Justin Vermillion (97th in 19:17) and Haydin Erwin (114th in 20:02) completed the top five Pirate finishers.
Phoenix returns to action on October 18 at the Country Fair Classic in Elmira.
