The Phoenix cross country teams are going to be spending some time at Valley of the Rogue State Park this season.

Last Saturday, the Pirates debuted on the same course that will serve as the host of Skyline Conference pre and district meets. Noah Marshall ran the course in 17:03.30 to lead the Phoenix boys. Also for PHS, Elwood Hoskingwas 15th in 17:53.50, Dilan Mathieu 30th in 18:54.40, Marcello Camargo 34th in 19:37.20, Blake Bleitler 46th in 21:20.30 and Adriel Gamez 47th in 22:41.40. 

The boys finished fourth as a team with 99 points.

Meanwhile, the Pirate girls placed third with 76 points. Sophia Stubblefield paced PHS, placing third in 20:20.60. Kyla Potratz was fifth in 20:50.20, Heidi Taylor 17th in 22:31, Lucy Newell 28th in 23:24.30, Sienna Bauer 35th in 24:40.10 and Clare Mathewson 37th in 25:13.30.

The Pirates return to action Saturday at the Northwest Classic in Eugene.
