Pirates 2nd in Skyline preview

Both Phoenix swimming teams finished second in the Pre-Skyline Conference meet in Grants Pass on January 19.
The Pirate boys totaled 61 points, second to Klamath Union's 93. Meanwhile, the girls compiled 46 points, finishing behind only Henley (104).
Top PHS finishers on the day included Alec Shepherd (first in the 200 IM and 100 freestyle), Heidi Taylor second in the 200 IM, Ruby Moser third in the 200 free, Jackson Fries third in the 200 IM, Pearl Ward third in the 50 free, Bailey Olson third in the 500 free and 100 backstroke, Sophia Stubblefield third in the 100 back and Nate Wood third in the 100 breast.
The Pirates return to action on Saturday at North Bend.
