After practicing at an outdoor pool on a daily basis, competing in one isn't an issue for the Phoenix swimming teams.
The Pirates earned third as a team for both the boys and girls at the annual Henley Freeze event on Saturday in Klamath Falls.
Pearl Ward won the 50-yard freestyle to pace the Phoenix finishes. A senior, Ward was part of the victorious 400 freestyle relay team, joining Sophia Stubblefield, Heidi Taylor and Rose Moser.
Other top-five finishes for Phoenix included Derrick Graham in the 200 freestyle, Elwood Hosking in the 200 freestyle, Taylor on the 200 free and 100 back, Claire Mathewson int he 200 IM, Nate Wood in the 50 free and 100 back, Zyan Shull-Bain in the 50 free and 100 back, Jackson Fries in the 100 breast and Stubblefield in the 100 breast.
The Pirates close out their regular season on Tuesday afternoon at a four-team meet in Grants Pass.
