Pirate swimmers heading to State

The Phoenix swimming team was planning on taking part in the 4A State Meet in Cottage Grove this weekend. It just wasn't planning this big of a party!
The Pirates qualified four individuals in six events plus three relays at the 4A regional meet in Cottage Grove on Saturday. They'll return to CG for State this Saturday.
Senior Nate Wood returns to State after earning the opportunity as a junior. Wood is seed third int eh 100 breaststroke and 12th in the 50 freestyle.
Junior Elwood Hosking is also a double qualifier, and is seeded 11th in the 100 freestyle and 15th in the 200 freestyle.
That duo plus Tyler Clark and Zyan Shull-Bain will represent PHS in the 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay.
For the Lady Pirates, junior Heidi Taylor is seeded 8th in the 100 Butterfly and classmate Sophia Stubblefield is 15th in the 200 Freestyle. Taylor, Stubblefield, Rose Moser and Emily Montoya are seeded eighth in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
