The Phoenix swimming team continued to ramp up for district competition with another solid showing on Jan. 29.
The Pirates got wins from Emily Montoya (500 freestyle) and Elwood Hosking (100 backstroke) and the 400 relay team of Heidi Taylor, Montoya, Laurelin Jensen and Sophia Stubblefield in a multi-team meet at the Medford YMCA.
Other top 3 individuals for the girls team were:
Ariah Potts (2nd - 50 Free, 3rd - 100 Breast)
Kyah Neeley (3rd - 50 Free)
Heidi Taylor (2nd - 200 Free, 2nd - 100 Fly)
Laurelin Jansen (3rd - 100 Back, 2nd - 100 Free)
Emily added a 3rd in the 200 Free.
Top 3 individuals for the boys team were:
Makaio Potts (3rd - 50 Free, 2nd - 100 fly)
River Delco (3rd - 100 Breast)
Elwood added a 2nd in the 200 Free.
Phoenix returns to action on Feb. 4 with a meet in Grants Pass. Special District competition is scheduled for Feb. 11-12 in Cottage Grove.
