Our girls came to the State meet to 'represent' and did so TREMENDOUSLY at the OSAA State Swimming Meet in Tualatin on February 19! Heidi Taylor set a new personal record with a drop of over 3 seconds to claim the 9th place finish in the 100 fly. Then Sophie Stubblefield, Ariah Potts, Jaxson Moser, and Heidi dropped over 5 1/2 seconds to lifetime best splits in their 200 free relay to move from 10th to the podium and a State medal for 6th place. That is an extremely unusual jump for State and the best advance in lady Pirates history! For their last event Laurelin Jansen joined Heidi, Sophie and Jaxon for the 400 free relay and, once again, posted the best time drop (17 seconds!) for the 12 team field. They achieved significant lifetime best splits and ended only a body length out of repeating the leap to the podium with 8th place, up from their 9th place seed. We're very proud to join and impress the top teams in Oregon with such great Pirate determination and resilience!
