Doubles team earns consolation honors

The doubles team of Courtney House and Gowri Vellenki closed the tennis season in style by claiming consolation honors in the district tennis tournament in Medford on May 12.
After losing their first match, the juniors bounced back to go undefeated over the remainder of the day at the event, which was held at Fichner-Mannwering Park. The Pirate pair lost a third-set tiebreaker in their opening match before powering through the remainder of the day to claim consolation honors.
Ally Ellis was the lone PHS player to advance out of the opening round before falling in a second-round singles match.
