After missing out on last season due to the pandemic, the Phoenix golf teams are playing with a sense of resolve.
Both Pirate teams took part in the annual Phoenix Invitational on April 28 at Centennial Golf Course. Kaia Eikenberry was the top finisher for the Phoenix girls, shooting a 113. Ruby Rector checked in at 117 and Lily Bulux at 142. University of Oregon commit Baylee Hammericksen shot a tournament record 64 to pace all girls.
Garrett Walker led the Phoenix boys at 119. Kyle Braun finished at 122, Michael Hawn at 152 and Hayden Hicks at 153. Carter Borror of Coquille posted an 80 to lead all boys.
Both team teams will take part in Skyline Conference events to complete the regular season next week.
