The Phoenix High School golf teams have pronounced themselves "district ready".
The Pirates are set for the post-season as the boys' team will play for two days at Eagle Point Golf Course (May 5-6) while the girls head to Bandon Crossings on May 9-10.
Both teams have had solid moments throughout the season. The boys combined for a team score of 392 at the annual Pirate Golf Shootout on April 25 at Centennial Golf Course. Reif Stanfield shot the team's top score of 93 (46-47) at the event, edging teammate Keola Brown's 95 (46-49). Also for PHS, Tucker Speaks shot 98 (49-49), Oliver Janes 106 (56-50) and Garrett Walker 111 (58-53).
The Phoenix girls have been led by Ruby Rector. The junior shot a 101 (51-50) at the home tournament to finish among the top 10 individuals. Teammate Ami Safady checked in at 119 (59-60) while Lily Bulux totalled 124 (64-60).
