Strong run for Pirates at Henley

The Phoenix cross country teams made an impressive run at the Henley Invitational in Klamath Falls on Wednedsay.
The Pirate girls totalled 38 points to win the event. Lupita Alegria led the way, finishing in 21 minutes, 44 seconds. Sophia Stubblefield was fourth in 22:37, Shelby Platt ninth in 24:52, Jasper Cortell 12th in 26:16 and Clare Mathewson 13th in 26:36
The Phoenix boys' finished second with 67 points. Pirate sophomore Noah Marshall won the event, covering the course in 17:25. Other top PHS finishers included Yovanni Bazan-Chavez ninth in 19:57, Dilan Mathieu 10th in 20:04, Elwood Hosking 23rd in 21:22 and Hayden Erwin 29th in 21:55.
The Pirates return to action on Saturday at the State of Jefferson Meet at Lithia Park in Ashland.
