The debut of the Phoenix girls' soccer team was worth the wait!
One of the last team's in the state to open the season, the Pirates rolled to a 10-0 non-conference win at Marshfield on Thursday afternoon.
Makenzie Christenson led the scoring parade with four goals on the day. Alex Hernandez added a pair while Sandra Villa handed out four assists. Alondra Ruvalcaba set the defensive pace while Emma Truex posted a clean sheet in the goal.
The Pirates return to action Tuesday when they visit Crater in a 7 pm kickoff in Central Point.
