Pirate Lose: 0 - 42
A difficult second quarter made life difficult for the Phoenix football team on Friday night. The Pirates yielded four touchdowns to visiting North Valley in the second quarter of a 42-0 loss to the Knights in a Skyline Conference game at Jack Woodward Stadium.  Mateo Lopez paced the Pirates on the ground, gaining 74 yards on 15 carries while Jack Hawkins caught six passes for 17 yards. The Pirates finished 0-8 overall and 0-4 in the Skyline.

Pirate Lose: 14 - 41
While they weren't able to post a homecoming victory, the Phoenix football team  proved it could compete on Friday night. The Pirates were within a touchdown of visiting Cottage Grove in the third quarter before dropping a 41-14 non-conference decision at Jack Woodward Stadium. PHS trailed just 21-14 when Nik Goff took a Zach Dungey pass and found the end zone. The visiting Lions responded with three scores to put the game away. Mateo Lopez scored the other Phoenix touchdown. The Pirates are 0-7 overall heading into Friday's season finale at home against North Valley.

Pirate Lose: 0 - 21
The Phoenix football team had its chances on Friday night. With Henley in a generous mood, the Pirates recovered four fumbles but were not able to capitalize on any of them in a 21-0 Skyline Conference loss to the Hornets in Klamath Falls. PHS fell behind 14-0 in the first quarter and wasn't able to find the end zone. Henley extended the lead to 21-0 in the third quarter. Phoenix had chances throughout the night but managed only three yards of total offense in the game. The Pirates (0-6 overall, 0-3 in the Skyline) return home to host Cottage Grove on Friday night for homecoming.

Pirate Lose: 13 - 43
After getting smoked out on Friday night, the Phoenix football team got run out on Saturday. The Pirates dropped a 43-13 Skyline Conference decision to visiting Klamath Union in a game postponed a day earlier due to poor air quality in the Rogue Valley. PHS allowed 380 rushing yards (510 overall) in the loss. Phoenix threw for 310 yards, including a 25-yard scoring pass from Zach Dungey to Nik Goff in the second quarter. That score cut the Pelicans' lead to 20-7. PHS was on the move moments later and was down to the KU five-yard line but was unable to score. From there, KU took charge, scoring 23-unanswered points. Dungey completed the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run in the game's final minute. The Pirates threw for an impressive 310 yards in the game, including 230 by Dungey but were unable to develop a running game. Jacky Hawkins caught six passes for 136 yards while Goff hauled in five for 96. Micheal Walker led the defense, finishing with five solo tackles and 10 assists. The Pirates (0-5) return to action Friday when they visit Henley.
Mazama too much in 61-13 win

Pirate Lose: 13 - 61
The Phoenix football team caught Mazama's ire on Friday night. After losing one game due to air quality and another on the road at Del Norte (Crescent City, CA) this season, the host Vikings were taking no prisoners when the Pirates traveled to Klamath Falls. A 61-13 victory in the Skyline Conference opener for both teams got Mazama's point across. After giving up two early touchdowns, Phoenix struck back when Zach Dungey connnected with Jacky Hawkins for an eight-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter. From that point on, it was all Mazama as the Vikings ran off 47 straight points. A one-yard scoring run by Micheal Walker completed the scoring in the fourth quarter for Phoenix. The Pirates (0-4 on the season) were limited to 154 yards of total offense while surrendering 571 rushing yards to Mazama. Phoenix returns to action Friday, hosting Klamath Union.

Pirate Lose: 19 - 32
This time, the Phoenix football team had nearly all of the answers. After falling behind and never rallying in two losses to open the season, the Pirates showed plenty of fight when they hosted Sweet Home in a non-conference game on Friday night at Jack Woodward. Stadium. Trailing 19-0 in the second quarter, Phoenix rallied and nearly took the lead before dropping a 32-19 decision. Zach Dungey threw three touchdown passes, including a 21-yard connection with Nik Goff to put PHS on the board in the second quarter. He hooked up Davon Ruiz on a 42-yard score early in the third quarter, cutting the Huskies' lead to 19-13. Phoenix was on the way to a game that would have tied the game on its next drive, only to fumble near the goal line. Sweet Home responded with two scoring drives to take control again. Jacky Hawkins caught a 12-yard pass from Dungey for a score in the game's final minute to close the scoring. Dungey threw for 187 yards while Hawkins caught 10 passes for 111 yards and Ruiz five for 75. Phoenix returns to action Friday, opening Skyline Conference play at Mazama.
Pirates fall 34-7 at Newport

Pirate Lose: 7 - 34
The search for answers continues for the Phoenix football team. After struggling to. move the ball a week earlier, the Pirates found success in the air during a non-conference game at Newport on Friday. Unfortunately, they struggled to establish a running game or stop the Cubs' offense in a 34-7 loss. Quarterbacks Zach Dungey and Dalton Samis combined to throw for 199 yards in the contest. Jacky Hawkins caught seven passes for 93 yards. On the ground, PHS ran for minus-6 yards. The Pirates had their best success moving the ball early in the game but were unable to score. Newport took a  14-0 lead into halftime before scoring to start the second half. Phoenix countered by getting on the scoreboard for the first time this season when Nik Goff brought the ensuing kickoff back 86 yards for a touchdown. Newport closed the game with two. more scoring drives. Phoenix (0-2 on the season) returns home to host Sweet Home on Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 pm at Woodward Stadium.

Pirate Lose: 0 - 28
Challenges have been nothing new to the Phoenix football team so far this season. From replacing a long list of graduated seniors to dealing with air quality issues, the Pirates have been looking to establish their identity. They took some steps toward that goal on Friday night in a 28-0 loss to Cascade Christian at Woodward Stadium. A couple of strong defensive stances in the first half highlighted the effort. PHS trailed 14-0 at the intermission before a 14-point third quarter put the game away for CCHS. Fifty-three rushing yards by Micheal Walker paced Phoenix on the ground while Jacky Hawkins caught five passes for 34 yards. Dalton Sammis completed 11 of 22 passes for 89 yards. Phoenix managed 176 yards of total offense on the night. The Pirates return to action Friday, visiting Newport, which opened the season with a 32-8 win over Tillamook.
