Pirate Lose: 0 - 1
Despite a tough 1-0 loss to visiting Mazama, the Phoenix girls' soccer team had plenty to celebrate on Tuesday afternoon. While a lone goal on a free kick from 30 yards out midway through the second half made the difference for the Vikings, PHS still completed a successful regular season. The Pirates posted a 3-6-1 mark in Skyline Conference play and are 4-7-2 overall heading into a Class 4A play-in game later this week. An opponent will be determined by Tuesday night. The Pirates outshot Mazama 12-3 but were not able to notch a goal in the match.

Pirate Lose: 0 - 2
While the final score wasn't enough to get a win, the effort was again impressive for the Phoenix girls' soccer team. The Pirates dropped a 2-0 decision in a physical contest at Henley on Thursday night. Despite the loss, PHS remains ranked 15th in the state and should host a Class 4A playoff game next weekend to kick off the post-season. Phoenix (3-5-1 in the Skyline conference and 4-6-2 overall) found itself in a scoreless tie after one half of play. Henley pushed through a pair of goals during the second half. The teams tied 2-2 when they played earlier in the season. The Pirates complete the regular season on Monday, hosting Mazama in a 4:30 pm at Colver Field.

Pirate Lose: 0 - 4
The Phoenix girls' soccer team plays in one of the toughest conferences in the state. And it shows! The Pirates fell to Hidden Valley (ranked first in the state) 3-1 and North Valley (ranked third) 4-0 in the past week. Those setbacks are serving as preparation for PHS, who takes on Henley on Thursday night and Mazama on Monday to close the regular season.  The Pirates are ranked 15th in the state and could host a post-season play-in game by staying ranked within the top 20 in the state. At home against Hidden Valley the Pirates got a goal from Jackie Rodriguez (assist by Giselle perez-Hernandez) and did a great job of containing the top-ranked Mustangs. In the North Valley match on Monday, PHS had several good looks at the goal but wasn't able to convert. PHS is 3-4-1 in the conference and 4-5-2 overall.

Pirate Lose: 2 - 2
The Phoenix girls' soccer team continues to make an impression in the Skyline Conference standings...and the state for that matter! Pirate Win: 4 - 2
The bar continues to raise for the Phoenix girls' soccer team. After bringing a long Skyline Conference losing streak last season, the Pirates are looking to continue their climb up the standings. They made a big step in that direction on Thursday, rallying for a 4-2 win over Klamath Union in the conference opener for both teams. Despite outshooting the Pelicans 8-3 over the first 40 minutes, the Pirates trailed 2-0 at halftime. The offense got untracked in the second half while the defense kept KU from finding the net again. Sandra Villa opened the scoring off a Maggie Carrillo assist early in the half. Jackie Rodriguez was next, scoring an unassisted goal to tie the game at 2-2.  Carrillo headed home a pass from Lupita Alegria to give Phoenix its first lead of the game. Mackenzie Christensen finished the scoring off a pass from Carrillo at the 65-minute mark of the match. The win improved the Pirates' overall record to 2-1-1. They return to action Monday, visiting Hidden Valley.

PHS returns to action Thursday when it opens Skyline Conference play, hosting Klamath Union at Colver Field.
